Director of Product Design, 2017 – 2020
Dynamically lead and mentor a top-performing creative team of developers and designers throughout all aspects of product design for 3D editing software utilized in the CPG industry. Govern the development and execution of a comprehensive product experience roadmap to drive complete fulfillment of all product vision, requirements, and objectives. Track progress of all creative endeavors through daily and weekly reviews of project status to ensure for complete adherence to all set deadlines across every stage of development. Deliver product vision and cultivate a cross-functional, collaborative, and team-oriented environment that promotes unique UX solutions to address all design challenges. Act as a liaison between executive leadership and creative team to effectively translate all client-specific requirements into actionable design solutions. 
Key Achievements:

  • Established a highly-invested six-member team comprised of hand-selected local and national designers by identifying organizational needs and securing optimal candidates to drive continued product expansion and improvement. 

  • Successfully created a position that scaled to meet the swiftly expanding needs of the product.

Senior UX Designer, 2015 – 2017
Directed the creation of engaging user experiences for online 3D platforms products and the VR R&D department in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Delivered prefab UI assets for the 3D platform and partnered closely with developers throughout the generation of proof of concepts. Collaborated cross-functionally with the marketing team to create effective marketing assets aligned with all campaign requirements.
Key Achievements:

  • Spearheaded the complete reconstruction of UI/UX experience for users on the respondent and survey platform.

  • Played an instrumental role in the creation of a new product offering by pioneering the development of a VR experience for presentation generation. 

  • Identified and implemented design review requirements utilized in daily scrum and stand-up meetings.

  • Significantly advanced cross-collaborative relationships between the Design, Engineering, and QA departments.

Senior UI Designer, 2011 – 2015
Drove user-focused solutions while functioning as a crucial member of the consulting-style team structure of the Creative Experience Design Department. Oversaw all aspects of multiple simultaneous UX/UI projects while successfully prioritizing tasks and allocating assignments across the team to ensure for complete adherence to all deadlines. Owned the full scope of creative development from discovery and ideation to completion and client delivery. Collaborated closely with the Salesforce Product Team to generate engaging demos that showcased product offerings.
Key Achievements:

  • Led the adoption of new user experience technologies. 

  • Created six Salesforce API demos to highlight capabilities of the API integration platform at the national Dreamforce conference.

  • Expanded innovative product offerings by developing wearable applications that utilized emerging technologies.

Wireframe Tool

Axure is one of the creative industries' best wireframe tools out there. Brian makes use of this tool not just for wireframes, but for interaction documentation and User Guides.

Brian also has experience in other wire-framing tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision.

ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD

Design Tools

The Adobe Creative Cloud is the must-use tool in the creative industry. Brian is an expert at all of its main flagship applications. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects, and the Creative Cloud is what he uses most.

UNITY 3D

Prototyping Tool

Unity 3D is a game engine. It is used in various application types from typical game development to architectural BMI visualization. Brian has been using Unity 3D to create interactive prototypes. He has found that it is perfect to demo concepts in both 2D and 3D interaction settings.

Brian uses a visual scripting tool.  This is what allows him to create the interactive POC projects in Unity.

BLENDER 3D

3D Modeling

Blender 3D is an open source 3D modeling tool.  Brian has used this tool to create most of not all of his 3D work.  This tool has also come in handy when created flat 2D design images to unexpected UI layouts.
